Refugees In Schools partners with community-based Windle International Kenya and the very best technical colleges in Kenya to provide the highest standard of vocational education to our refugee scholars. Windle has staff based in Nairobi, Dadaab, and Kakuma refugee camps.
Windle has delivered education services for communities affected by conflict for more than 40 years. Their staff collaborates with RIS to support students as they adjust to life outside the refugee camp by providing counseling, monitoring student performance, supporting mental health and medical needs and distributing financial allowances.
At Eastlands College of Technology (ECT) students are enrolled in degree, diploma and certificate programs that combine technical coursework, business management, and industry apprenticeships in three tracts: Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Technology. ECT provides the highest quality vocational training in Kenya and is part of Strathmore Educational Trust, established in Kenya in 1961.
Kenya Medical Training College is the leading medical training college in Kenya and graduates make up more than 85% of Kenya's middle-level health workforce. Daystar University has been educating Kenya's mental health workforce since 1971. Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences offers hospital-based training for all its courses.
All of our partner institutions are registered by the Kenyan Ministry of Education and licensed by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET).
