Back to School

Dear Refugees In Schools Everywhere Supporter,

My family and I arrived in Kenya safe and sound this month and I can ALMOST see our students in person but we are committed to staying safe and face-timing for now.

Back to School

I love the social media flurry of back to school photos. For most of us back to school means new clothes and sneakers. But here in Kenya there is no such thing here as a free and public education. Families have to pay for school and the costs are simply too much for most refugees. And for many Kenyans as well- which is why we have included local students in our 2021-2022 plan.

Sandra

Sandra is a young refugee whose parents fled the war in Congo when she was a small girl., She scored in the top 10% of the Kenyan national exams and secured a place at a top school but had no funds to attend. Sandra is one of the brightest students in the ENTIRE COUNTRY but her family had no way to pay the school fees. It was an incredible feeling to be able to call the family and share that we would indeed be able to offer her a scholarship!

Sandra dreams of becoming a doctor. Both of her parents have health problems and she dreams of helping other refugee families. Her favorite subject is Chemistry.

Monthly donors  sustain our work and create] opportunities that change lives like Sandra’s. Please consider a monthly, recurring donation by clicking HERE to support our life-changing-and life-saving work!

Together we are changing the lives of these young refugees. Asante sana!

Ann
